Sonja Molchany is a preservation planner and architectural historian with more than 20 years of experience in historic resources and environmental review. She has a strong working knowledge of the regulatory framework involved with historic preservation planning, as well as local preservation policies and processes. Sonja has an MA in Historic Preservation Planning from Cornell University and a BA in Art History from Carleton College, and exceeds the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards in Architectural History. She established Fieldwork Studio LLC in 2018 and serves both public and private clients.

A natural curiosity and attention to detail lead to thoughtful investigation of resource types ranging from industrial and commercial buildings to farm sites, dwellings, multi-family housing, public buildings, and landscapes. Sonja builds and maintain relationships, delivers on expectations, and works collaboratively, evidenced by numerous repeat clients as well as smooth communication with agency staff at all levels.
